Thomas A. Frakes

Thomas Frakes is a marine biologist, former editor of SeaScope and former research director of Instant Ocean Hatcheries, one of the first commercial enterprises dedicated to the captive propagation of clownfishes.
He was given a Lifetime Achievement Award in 1996 by the Marine Aquarium Societies of North America (MASNA) for his role as a leading scientist and educator in the marine aquarium hobby. He is regarded as one of the pre-eminent experts on the formulation of salt mixes for marine aquariums.
He is currently a technical consultant to Omega Sea, Ltd., and president of Anclote Aquaculture, Inc., a Florida-based live rock development project.
