From Microcosm Aquarium Explorer
[edit] Overview

Other common name(s):
- Half Blue Demoiselle
- Yellow-dipped Damsel
Native range:
- Rowley Shoals
- Scott Reef
- Ashmore Reef
- Indonesia
Habitat: Inhabits lagoon and near shore reefs, usually among branching corals. Found in small aggregation, usually with Acropora corals.
Maximum length: 6 cm (2 in)
Minimum aquarium size: 38 L (10 gal)
Water: Marine 24 °C (297 K, 75 °F) - 28 °C (301 K, 82 °F)
[edit] Feeding
Meaty foods, including finely shredded frozen seafood, mysid shrimp, frozen preparations, pigment-enriched flake food, and Cyclop-eeze. Feed twice a day.
[edit] Aquarium Compatibility
A peaceful species, however, other damselfishes, dottybacks, pygmy angels, and other potential bullies are likely to pick on it. More than one C. hemicyanea can be kept in the same aquarium, although it is best to introduce them simultaneously. Like others in the genus, it is not a threat to invertebrates and is a near-perfect reef aquarium fish.
[edit] Notes
The Azure Demoiselle tends to maintain its brilliant colors if given a varied diet, including vegetable matter. One curious behavior it brings in from the wild: this species will eat fish feces in the aquarium.
