MAGNIFICENT SHRIMP GOBIES

This genus contains one described and possibly one undescribed species. Like other shrimp gobies, any Flabelligobius is an amazing addition to the reef aquarium. They are especially well-suited to the nano-reef tank and are harmless to virtually all ornamental invertebrates.

When first added to a tank, they will be quite shy. If aggressive fishes are present, you may never see them because they will hide constantly. They are smaller, more docile gobies that are likely to be picked on by Amblyeleotris and Cryptocentrus species. If you keep them with potential bullies, the tank must be large and the Flabelligobius species added first. Their large dorsal fins may be picked at by fin-nippers (damsels, tobies).

Feed magnificent shrimp gobies a varied diet at least twice a day with foods like finely shredded frozen seafood, mysid shrimp, frozen preparations, and Cyclop-eeze (the last is a wonderful choice for these gobies). A productive refugium can provide a much-appreciated constant supply of tiny invertebrate prey items.
