PYGMY GOBIES

The more than 30 species in this genus of tiny gobies are all ideal additions to the nano-reef. Most spend their time resting on the substrate, while a few hover just over the bottom.

Because they are so small, they are potential prey for a wide range of tankmates (like dwarf seabasses, cardinalfishes, hawkfishes, wrasses, and sand perches).

They are prone to going into overflow boxes and up siphon tubes. Be aware that some are naturally short-lived—one has a life span of less than 60 days, and about 3 weeks of this time is the larval stage.

These gobies will spawn in captivity, with males guarding clutches of benthic eggs.
