Overview
This family of mostly small (10 cm - 4 in. or less) marine crabs includes the Boxing and Pom-Pom Crabs, Mud, and so-called Round Crabs.
One large xanthid crab is the the Tasmanian Giant Crab, Pseudocarcinus gigas, up at 46 cm (18 in.) wide.
Some coral crabs will eat coral polyps but generally coexist well with captive coral colonies.
