Monodactylus argenteus - (Linnaeus, 1758)
Silver Mono

Although sold to freshwater hobbyists, this is a brackishwater/marine fish. Aaron Norman

Overview

The various species of Mono are flashy and provide constant movement when given space to swim. They are best kept in groups of at least 3–5.

They can tend to be somewhat timid and are brackish to marine fishes that get quite large and are easily frightened.

They can be expected to do poorly in a standard freshwater community tank setting—better in brackish or marine tanks. They are too active for small tanks.
