Phenotype, n. The outward, physical appearance of an organism. This includes any part of the observable form, function or behavior of a living organism.
Compare to:
Genotype, n. The internally coded, inheritable information carried by the genes all living organisms. These codes are found within almost all cells of an animal or plant, and are passed along from one generation to the next.
