Pencilstreaked Rabbitfish
From Microcosm Aquarium Explorer
[edit] Overview
This hardy, handsomely adorned rabbitfish will do best if kept in a tank with plenty of swimming room and with nonaggressive to moderately aggressive tankmates. It may pick at the fecal material produced by large-polyped stony corals, which could lead to picking at the polyp itself. Heavy feeding will help discourage this behavior.

- Spinefoot

Minimum aquarium size: 380 L (100 gal)
Water: Marine 24 °C (297 K, 75 °F) - 28 °C (301 K, 82 °F)
[edit] Feeding
Consumes a varied diet, mostly vegetable matter. Feed dried and frozen herbivore foods. Supplement with pieces of zucchini, broccoli, leaf lettuce, and sushi nori (dried seaweed). Feed two to three times a day.
[edit] Aquarium Compatibility
Keep only one or a pair per tank. This is a pair-bonding species, with pair members joining up when they are about 3 in. [7.6 cm] in length. Adult pair members may behave aggressively toward related species. They tend to ignore most fish tankmates.
[edit] Notes
This species will eat macroalgae and is usually effective at helping to control Caulerpa.
