[edit] Overview
A hardy aquarium inhabitant, but like many other angelfishes, it can be very belligerent. May be kept with other fishes in a large tank if it is the last one introduced. Select tankmates carefully: squirrelfishes, groupers, snappers, damselfishes, hawkfishes, surgeonfishes, eels and triggerfishes are appropriate. Avoid more passive tankmates like anthias, batfishes, tilefishes and butterflyfishes or even sedentary predators - it is likely to pick at them. Passer Angelfish have been observed biting the venomous dorsal spines off lionfishes. Adult males have yellow pelvic fins; females have white pelvic fins.
