New York Aquarium
From Microcosm Aquarium Explorer
[edit] City Meets Sea
The Aquarium is a haven of marine life and environmentalism in the midst of bustling NYC, with more than 8,000 animals and a serious dedication to conservation. Here, you’ll view jellyfish and sea lions and learn about the aquarium’s local, science-based conservation efforts.
[edit] Brooklyn’s Biggest Baby
The Aquarium is home to a 300-pound walrus calf named Akituusaq, who weighed in at 300 pounds recently. He was born in the Aquarium in June of 2007, only the sixth walrus ever successfully born in captivity.
[edit] 3D Experience
Get a little closer to the sea in the 3D theater, which shows a Deep Sea film showcasing some of the wilder creatures that live at the bottom of the ocean.
