[edit] The Hawaiian Aquarium

Since it opened its doors a decade ago, the ocean center is the only one of its kind in Hawaii. It features Hawaiian treasures like live corals, green sea turtles, sharks and rays. It is also a Hawaiian culture, language and natural history center.

Dedication to the environment is one of the ocean center’s main tenets, and they practice this friendliness in a number of ways. All of their turtles, for example, are part of a hatch-and-release program; they will be returned to the wild once they are strong and ready. And they revere their sharks, which are thought in traditional Hawaiian culture to be deified ancestors or personal gods.

If you feel the same way and want to get a little closer to your ancestors, take a dive with the ocean center. They provide the gear and the tank full of sharks: blacktip reef, hammerhead, tiger, whitetip reef, among others. You provide the camera.
