With large, fleshy polyps that vary distinctively from species to species, Euphyllia is a genus that has fascinated aquarists for decades.

These are generally hardy corals but demanding of careful handling and excellent, stable water conditions. They can "melt down" with dismaying speed when attacked by "Brown Jelly" infections.

Sexy Shrimp, Thor amboinensis, may adopt a Euphyllia spp. coral colony as its commensal host.
