Caldwell Zoo Aquarium
From Microcosm Aquarium Explorer
[edit] Fun and Learning for Children
The Zoo is geared primarily towards children, with exhibits like bird and habitat scavenger hunts and educational school programs that aim to teach children about the natural world using hands-on methods. Kids will especially love the baby animals, including Phineus, a baby black rhinoceros and Frosty, a baby kudu. There are adult animals, too, of course: a brother-sister set of white tigers and a large variety of cockatiels.
[edit] Rhino Conservation
The Zoo’s main conservation focus is on the rhinoceros. Their program asks visitors to donate old cell phones. The proceeds of the sales of these phones goes towards the International Rhino Foundation, which works to conserve the rhinos’ diminishing land.
