Larry Tackett and Denise Nielsen Tackett are professional photographers, writers, and presenters specializing in underwater and natural history subjects. For twenty years, they have dived, photographed, and observed marine life around the world while collecting tropical marine specimens for medical research. A pygmy seahorse, Hippocampus denise, was named in honor of Denise’s observation and documentation of these tiny creatures. Larry and Denise are the authors of Reef Life, Natural History and Behaviors of Marine Fishes and Invertebrates, and The Essential Underwater Photography Manual, A Guide to Creative Techniques and Key Equipment.
