Known as the FAT PUFFERS, this genus has a number of species prized by aquarists for their intelligence, fascinating behaviors, and big, captivating eyes that can blink.

Many contain the deadly nerve toxin tetrodotoxin and are blamed for causing poisonings, some fatal, among Japanese sushi eaters.
