[edit] Way Up in the Sky

Situated at 2100 feet above sea level, the Alpenzoo is the highest zoo in the world. It plays host solely to animals that originate in the Alpine region. Here you’ll see more than 2,000 different species as diverse as the tiny golden cockerel and enormous bison. Be sure not to miss the bearded vulture with a 10-foot wingspan.

[edit] Local Dedication

In the otter exhibit, the animals play in the water with various cold-water fish. Throughout the zoo, park rangers nurse endangered species back to health and return them to their natural habitat; many eagles and other animals that live in the nearby Alps are alive thanks to the Zoo’s conservation efforts.
