Aqua Medic GmbH of Bissendorf Germany, the parent company, has been a prominent name in the industry for many years in Europe and it believed that opening its own warehousing and distribution center was the best way to serve the US hobbyist.

In 2002, Aqua Medic Inc. moved to Loveland, Colorado and enjoyed continued growth and success. In December 2005, a fire consumed the home office and warehouse facility.

In December 2006, the key personnel that stayed to rebuild the company after the fire formed Global Aquatic Products, Inc. and subsequently purchased the North American distribution rights for Aqua Medic products.
